FINAL EIGHT TO RETURN TO EKATERINBURG

DIVS Sport Hall

The EuroLeague Women Final Eight 2014will be hosted by the city of Ekaterinburg and the local club UMMC, FIBA Europe announced on Monday.
Reigning champions UMMC already played host to the Final Four in 2011 and last season's Final Eight.
The capital city of the Russian region Sverdlovsk proved to be a wonderful host on both occasions, with the 5,000-seat DIVS Sports Hall providing the perfect setting for the season-ending event.
The Final Eight will be held from 7 to 13 April 2014, with the best seven teams following the regular season and play-offs joining UMMC to compete for the championship.
"UMMC Ekaterinburg have proven on many occasions to be wonderful hosts and I am certain that they will deliver another well-organised season finale in 2014," FIBA Europe Acting President Cyriel Coomansadded.
"We are delighted to be returning to Ekaterinburg following on from the success of 2013," said FIBA Europe Secretary General Kamil Novak, adding: "The enthusiasm for UMMC and for women's basketball in general is exceptional in Ekaterinburg."
"FIBA Europe's leaders gave us a great honour to trust the EuroLeague Women Final Eight hosting to Ekaterinburg," said UMMC President Andrey Kozitsyn.
"I am glad that our wonderful city will once more have the opportunity to demonstrate how much our people love, understand and value basketball.
"I am sure the DIVS tribunes will be completely full again and we will do our best to make the upcoming EuroLeague Women Final one of the best remembered and brightest pages in European women's basketball history."
The logo of the EuroLeague Women Final Eight will be revealed during a press conference at theSuperCup Women in Ekaterinburg on 29 October.
The SuperCup will see current EuroLeague Women champions UMMC go up against reigning EuroCup Women champions Dynamo Moscow for the first international title of the season.
