Isil Alben `s ... EuroBasket Women 2015

Logo

gaan besteden.

My  thanks for the use of nice words with Isil Alben from the web site of
www.fibaeurope.com

ALBEN EYES UP ANOTHER PODIUM FINISH

Turkey national team and EuroLeague Women star Isil Alben is gunning for a third successive podium finish at a EWomen Final Round.
After digesting the outcome of the draw in Budapest over the weekend, the playmaker is hoping her nation can secure a third consecutive medal when they step out next summer.
"The draw for EuroBasket Women 2015 has been followed by excitement," stated Alben to fibaeurope.com.
"Although of course when the draw was actually being made, I was firstly focusing only on Group B.
"We have managed to step onto the podium at the last two EuroBasket Women tournaments and our goal is still to get another medal.
"In our country, both the clubs and the national team still have the momentum that we have gained in the last few years.
"I think this can also affect the outcome of EuroBasket Women 2015."
Turkey were handed BelarusPolandItaly and Greece as their opponents in Oradea and the playmaker is ready for some difficult challenges ahead.
She warned, "We are aware of the power of the other teams, but we will play for first place in the group.
"We will be paying attention to the experience of Belarus, as well as the basketball culture of both Poland and Italy.
"Meanwhile we know that Greece will have a great willingness to play after missing the last two events.
"If all goes well, we're going to merge with Group A.
"We have met often with both Czech Republic and France and I think it will be a very critical match with either.
"Meanwhile increasing the number of teams, along with the tournament days being prolonged may require us to prepare in different ways," added the guard.
"Above everything else, I'm wishing a healthy winter season to all of the players who will be involved and great success to those who are organising the event in Hungary and Romania.
"I will see you all in June!"
With a staggering 176,000 followers on twitter via @isilalben10 there is no doubting her popularity in her homeland.
But, having starred for her country in the last three or four years in particular and having had an outstanding EuroLeague Women Final Eight with Galatasaray odeabank by leading them to a historic title, Alben continues to be one of the leading European stars of women's basketball.
However, before she gets to pull on her beloved Turkey national team vest again, she must firstly focus on her current challenge which remains successfully adjusting to life at a new club and indeed in a new country with Dynamo Kursk.
