Anatoly Myshkin named the new head coach of Russian NT

1520635_616809581688657_1562962729_nContrary to reports in Russian media from a couple of weeks ago, Anatoly Myshkin has been named the new head coach of the Russian Women’s National Team.
Myshkin was a favourite of the Russian Basketball Federation’s coaches commission last year when the job was eventually given to Alfredas Vainauskas. After that comission’s first choice this year – Sergey Bazarevich – declined, Myshkin was their second choice.
He last coached in 2008 when he was with Dynamo Kursk. Since then he has been commenting games on TV.Russian NT will be in a group with Sweden and Netherlands in EuroBasket Women 2015 qualifiers.

Anatoly Myshkin - head coach of Russian women's team!
At today's meeting the Board RSE famous Russian basketball player and coach Anatoly Myshkin was appointed head coach of Russian women's team.

Anatoly Myshkin  - Honored Master of Sports, Honored coach of Russia. Colonel of the Russian Army. Was awarded the "Badge of Honor" Order of Friendship, and a letter of thanks of the President of the Russian Federation "For contribution to the development of basketball."
During a speech for the national team of the USSR (1973-1982) won the following medals:

Olympics
Bronze (Montreal 1976)
Bronze (Moscow 1980)

World Championships
Silver (Philippines 1978)
Gold (Columbia 1982)

European Championships
Bronze (Spain 1973)
Silver (Yugoslavia 1975)
Silver (Belgium 1977)
Gold (Italy 1979)
Gold (Czechoslovakia 1981)

Universiade
Gold (Moscow 1973)
As a coach Anatoly worked as an assistant coach the women's team of the USSR EY Homel (1989), as well as the head coach of the women's team of Russia - 1993, 1997.

- Congratulations to the appointment of Anatoly Dmitrievich! I am grateful to the Board and coaching advice for the large amount of work done related to the election by coach top male and female national team. Convinced that Anatoly gather under the banner of the main team of the country's strongest players, will create favorable working, creative atmosphere in the team, and that the coaching staff that they will be formed soon, to do everything to achieve their goals. Myshkin - winner in spirit and this is very important in the current circumstances today.

- First of all I would like to say that I take up my pleasure solving of tasks in front of me. Recent results of our national teams are deplorable, but I am absolutely sure that this crisis is temporary and soon Russian basketball afford to return to its rightful place among the world's strongest teams. First of all, I think all who care about the results of the team, need to work together to achieve a common goal. I am counting on the support of managers and coaches of all Russian clubs, well the closest tournament task is clear - we must break into the European Championship.

- Coaching Tip RSE year ago offered Anatoly Myshkin as head coach of Russian women's team. Then, to our opinion not heeded. Now we are back to the candidate Anatoly Dmitrievich because convinced his skills and abilities to solve our women's team the most serious problem. Myshkin has a name in the world basketball, a great experience, he is a maximalist by nature and knows how to get our girls a taste of the big wins.
