EuroCup Women .. Halve Finales .....

Heden avond was de eerste heen wedstrijden in de EuroCup Women
en Kayseri Kaski spor won uit tegen MKB Ruzemberok uit Slovenie met 79 - 60.

De andere treffen was Dynamo Moscow ... de andere rivaal uit Moscouw van
CSKA ..... die namen op tegen de andere Russusche team Chevakata Vologda
na een harde spel onder de borden daar in Moscouw won de plaatselijke Dynamo
met  82 - 73 .
Volgende week donderdag  zijn de returns in Vologda en in Kayseri.

Ik was niet thuis om te kijken voor de wed. van Kayseri dus moet ik ook doen

Dynamo Edge Closer To Final

Dynamo Moscow will take a useful nine point advantage to Vologda for the second leg of the EuroCup Women semi-finals after claiming an 82-73 home success against Chevakata who hauled themselves back into the tie during the closing stages.
Whilst the advantage might clearly be with the club from the Russian capital, a critically important late show from the visitors set up an intriguing return leg next week.

Early in the fourth quarter, any chance of making the Final looked to be ebbing dangerously away from Chevakata when baskets by Svetlana Abrosimova and Nadezhda Grishaeva extended the already healthy advantage of Dynamo to 73-56.
However, Chevakata worked hard to get themselves back into the contest down the stretch by scoring seven of the last nine points in the game.
Indeed things could have been even better for Dmitry Donskov and his players had Elena Volkova not missed two free-throws in the dying seconds.
For long periods, it had looked like the superior depth of Dynamo Moscow might allow them to jump towards the Final - especially when they took control in the second period and outscored their opponents 26-15 to go eight points up at the interval.
But,despite their general dominance, they ultimately left the door ajar and Chevakata made the most of it in the last few minutes of the game.
Grishaeva top scored for the hosts with 20 points, whilst Crystal Langhorne weighed in with 17 points and ten rebounds.  Glory Johnson had a stunning 18 points and 14 rebounds for Chevakata.




Kayseri Put One Foot In The Final


Last years' EuroCup Women runners-up Kayseri Kaski spor took a considerable leap towards successive Final appearances after a powerful 79-60 road win at MBK Ruzomberok in the semi-final first leg.
The Turkish club were always on top against their opponents, who crashed to their fifth home loss of the season and are yet to win a game on their own court.
Ruzomberok briefly kept pace with the visitors during the early exchanges when Katerina Tetemondova levelled the scores at 13-13, but they weren't be able to sustain it.

A 15-4 run by Kayseri either side of the first and second quarter got them onto the front foot and they never applied the brakes - especially with Ruzomberok possessing such a fantastic record on their travels.
Nicky Anosike and Lara Sanders proved too hot to handle in the paint and whilst Ruzomberok stemmed the tide a little to head to the locker rooms 39-32 behind, it was to be as close as they would get.
Kayseri kept their foot on the accelerator and a triple by Zoi Dimitrakou extended their advantage to 59-43 by the end of the third quarter.
Known for their excellent defence, Ruzomberok simply had more difficulty in containing the vast array of scoring talent on the Kayseri roster and couldn't find enough of their own offence to limit the damage - particularly with Sequoia Holmes going 0 of 10 from the floor.
Kayseri subsequently strolled to victory with Sanders claiming a game-high 22 points and nine rebounds, whilst Anosike had a near perfect shooting night to corral 13 points as well as five rebounds and four steals.
Tetemondova responded with 14 points for Ruzomberok before fouling out of the game
