Anatoly Myshkin named the new head coach of Russian NT
Contrary to reports in Russian media from a couple of weeks ago, Anatoly Myshkin has been named the new head coach of the Russian Women’s National Team.
Myshkin was a favourite of the Russian Basketball Federation’s coaches commission last year when the job was eventually given to Alfredas Vainauskas. After that comission’s first choice this year – Sergey Bazarevich – declined, Myshkin was their second choice.
He last coached in 2008 when he was with Dynamo Kursk. Since then he has been commenting games on TV.Russian NT will be in a group with Sweden and Netherlands in EuroBasket Women 2015 qualifiers.
